Some Whaley good facts.
There are 2 types of whales!
1.Baleen Whales which include humpbacks and blue whales. The whales have fibrous ‘baleen’ plates in their mouths instead of teeth. The Baleen plates help filter out and consume the massive quantities of krill, plankton, and crustaceans which these whats thrive on.
2. Toothed Whales like orcas, beluga and sperm whales, These whales have teeth which enable them to base their diet on larger prey such as fish and squid.
Some whale species have multiple stomachs. The largest member of the beaked whale family, the Baird’s Whale – they can have up to 13 stomachs!
Blue Whales can grow more than 100ft long and weigh as much as 30 Elephants.
