Figs | Oval Shallow Platter

BlissHome Figs | Oval Shallow Platter

Designed for relaxed serving and sharing, the Fig Oval Shallow Platter brings rich colour and organic form to the table.

Made by artisans in a small, family-run factory in Italy, the earthenware platter is hand-decorated using traditional spongeing and reactive glaze techniques. The layered application of colour gives the fig design its characteristic texture and depth.

Its shallow oval form is ideal for antipasti, salads, vegetables and generous sharing dishes.

Who knew the fig is actually an inside out flower?
People have been growing figs since at least 5000 BC and they were an important source of food for the ancient Greeks and Romans. Our factory in Italy has created evocative images of the humble fig by hand spongeing with a reactive glaze – due to the hand made decoration, all pieces will be slightly different and unique. The fig collection also comes in other sizes and shapes.
